North Valley Bank Simplifies Overdraft Collections
North Valley Bank, headquartered in
Redding, California, has offered a successful overdraft
protection plan since 2000. As the bank grew, however,
administering these accounts became a challenge because the
software being used lacked flexibility and functionality. With
aggressive growth projected for the coming years, the bank knew
changes had to be made.
To streamline overdraft collections and
contact management, the bank partnered with Centrix to create
the Centrix Overdraft Administration System (OAS). “Prior to
working with Centrix, our daily process was rigid and
inefficient,” said Misty Baker, Overdraft Collections Supervisor
at North Valley Bank. “We realized that changes needed to be
made, and we had to give our employees the tools to succeed.
Centrix made that happen.”
CentrixOAS™ gives the bank a flexible,
browser-based tool that offers centralized collections
management, yet enables the branches to work their collections
if desired. The system incorporates a daily “call list” for
collectors, contact notes and history, follow-up dates, on-line
reports, and the ability to refund/waive fees and charge off
accounts. The bank can define an unlimited number of customer
letters, which are automatically produced each night. A
complete history is maintained of all activity while the account
is overdrawn so employees can look at both current and prior
overdraft activity.
Although overdraft collections will always
be a challenge, North Valley Bank knows they have a system in
place that allows them to manage their accounts efficiently and
effectively. As the bank continues to grow, the flexible and
scalable design of OAS will continue to meet their needs as well
as enhance the profitability of their overdraft protection plan.
