The Centrix Transaction Block Build System allows a financial institution to mitigate operational risk and streamline operations by processing disparate transaction files from external systems to create transaction posting files (blocks) formatted for the core processing system. Using this single, turnkey tool, a financial institution can eliminate numerous custom programs used to manage this process, or can minimize manual data entry.
The integrated data mapping tool enables the system to process virtually any delimited file (.CSV), fixed length file (.txt) or Excel file (.xls) and normalize the data to create an output posting file. An unlimited number of input files can be mapped into the system. The data mapping parameters are defined via the simple user interface, which does not require programming expertise. Should the format of an existing file change, or if a new file needs to be added, a parameter change is all that is needed rather than a programming change.
The system can optionally translate transaction codes and account numbers when processing a file. Moreover, the flexible business rules can be setup to create offsetting general ledger transactions if the debits and credits in the source file do not balance. Parameters also support transaction amount floors and ceilings, unique transaction descriptions and warehousing to post on a particular date. Once a file has been processed, an audit report is created that can be used to balance back to posting reports.
